The current building (Marble Towers, in central Johannesburg) has been flagged for serious Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) violations. These include malfunctioning elevators, poor ventilation, suspected asbestos, and other structural or facilities issues (citizen.co.za).
Because of these safety concerns, the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform & Rural Development (DALRRD), together with the Department of Public Works & Infrastructure (DPWI), has decided that the registry requires alternative accommodation.
Please be advised that the Johannesburg Deeds Office will therefore be relocating to new premises in the near future.
The new address will be:
28 Harrison Street, Johannesburg
Further details regarding the exact date of the move and operational arrangements will be communicated in due course. Please note that during the course of the relocation there may be temporary interruptions or delays with property transfers and related processes.
